Social Distance Signage

A sandwich board sign to warmly welcome library patrons and help them feel calm and safe as physical distancing practices started to get implemented at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Goal:
Remind people to maintain social distance.

Audience:
Library patrons.

Message:
Stay 2 metres apart.

Tone:
Warm, calm, grateful, inviting.

Strategy:
In order to convey a sense of calm and simplicity, we kept the text content to a minimum.

We used a script typeface (Sign Painter) and the outlines of people reading to humanize the sign and keep it warm.
